MAKING TIME FOR SELF-CARE IS EASY AS 10-1-1
We all struggle with prioritizing self-care at times.
I know I did. Early this year I had a constant meditation and mindfulness practice but I would feel emotionally and energetically drained every night. Something felt off. Even though I was taking time for myself everyday, a deeper and consistent connection to myself was missing… Can you relate to that?
It’s constantly a struggle for busy moms to make time for self-care without feeling guilty about it. In a world that values production, hustle and staying busy, downtime is viewed as a luxury instead of the necessity it is.
And for those who do want to prioritize more self-care, they feel frustrated they can’t find the time.
It’s my mission to help moms infuse the greatest act of self-care into their daily routine, infusing peaceful pauses throughout their day.
A burned out, exhausted and cranky mom can’t nurture and care for those she loves.
Since so many of my mindful mama clients struggle with this, I wanted to answer this question for all of you.
In this article, you’ll learn the easiest 10-1-1 method to infusing self-care into your life. It’s quick, simple and easy to practice.
1. the 10-minute rule
The first rule to infuse time for self-care every day is taking 10 minutes a day to do YOU. For me, that always requires me to tune into myself with 1-minute mindfulness resets throughout my day and a short seated meditation.
2. the 1-hour rule
The second rule to effortlessly infuse time for self-care into your life is to take a MINIMUM of 1 hour a week to do something you are passionate about, that is just for YOU. Maybe that’s taking a nap, reading a book, going to yoga, hanging with friends or taking a bath. It’s all about something that rejuvenates you that you don’t do on a daily basis.
For me this is what I was lacking. I was doing the daily tune me up’s but I wasn’t taking time to do something out of my ordinary routine for the pure joy of it. Infusing this level of self-care builds deep self-love and nurtures your soul.
3. The 1 day/ 1-month rule
Once a month for one ENTIRE day take a digital detox and spend quality time with your family or take a personal day. Just fully live it up as if you have no worries. Have fun, laugh out loud, be silly, do something new. But do it completely with your mindful presence.
Every so often you can even take a full day of self-care AWAY from your family too (without the guilt). It’s the most empowering and rejuvenating experience. Once you come back to your family, you’re automatically more present and appreciative of the little moments. I know these mini-mama vaca’s don’t always happen, but sprinkle a few throughout your year and you’ll move through life feeling balanced.
Are you ready to effortlessly infuse time for self-care into your daily life?
