HOW I PRIORITIZE A HEALTHY WORK-LIFE BALANCE
I didn’t always maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Being a mompreneur, there is no set 9-5. You are on the clock ALL the time.
Whether it’s unexpected things that come up with my son Ayaan or business related tasks, I was always on the go.
I know you can relate to me.
Then I hit major burn-out at the beginning of this year.
After a 3 week digital detox, I didn’t want to come back to work. I just wanted to relax. I knew coming back to my normal routine would make me feel stressed out.
The problem was, I LOVED the work I do. It’s my passion. My life purpose. How was I letting it stress me out?
When our vacations aren’t enough to detox and relax us, I realized that meant my daily routine didn’t have enough work-life balance.
In January I was determined to set clear boundaries regarding work. No work after 5 PM or weekends. I set aside digital detox times between 4-8 which was dinner and undivided quality time with my family.
I scheduled at least 10 minutes of personal time a day, 1 hour a week to do something to nourish my soul and took a complete personal day for 1 day once a month to do something that lights me up.
This has changed EVERYTHING.
Inspiring, teaching and using my voice to bring awareness of why it’s important to raise Mindful Children takes energy. And if I’m not filling my cup first, I can’t be the inspiring wife, woman, and teacher I deeply desire to be.
As part of my journey to set boundaries, I set aside two times a year, where I will do a complete business detox. That means no Facebook, no emails, no creating no blogs. It’s simply time for myself to rejuvenate and get re-energized.
Starting from the week of June 19th to July 10th, I’m starting my summer business detox.
So what can you expect? I may post some inspiration occasionally but I won’t be around to answer questions. No coaching for my Mindful Mama Experience clients and there will be no new TejalTV or blog content at this time. I’ll be answering emails at a bare minimum.
So now I want to hear from you,
Look into your life where you can create non-negotiable boundaries. Where can you infuse more personal time and self-care? How can you create some space in your life to detox from your devices? Share your ideas with us below in the comments.
Now that your kids are home from school, schedule some fun mommy and me activities. Focus on creating memories and enjoy the summer months!
I’ll be back in mid-July more refreshed, excited and ready to connect!
Sending you summer lovin,
