SIMPLE TOOL TO STOP BICKERING (BEFORE IT STARTS)
You’ve said something harsh to your children, that you later regretted, right? Whether it was using a harsh tone, words or energy, one thing is certain.
The way we speak to our children (especially in moments of anger) become our child’s inner truth.
The harsher the critic, tone and words we use, they get planted into their subconscious and hijack how they start seeing themselves.
I remember this clearly one day when Ayaan wasn’t eating well. When he finally started eating, he would keep food stuffed in his mouth. Running late already, I wanted to SCREAM. What was quickly spiraling into a moment of disconnection, got salvaged when I did the tool I’m going to teach you today.
And how did Ayaan react?
Ayaan started laughing and so did I! In that moment of play I let go of my agenda and tuned into him. I realized he wasn’t swallowing to be defiant, he got peanut butter stuck to the roof of his mouth and he couldn’t swallow. In that space of laughter, I was able to see the good in my child and was so thankful I didn’t act out based on my initial assumption which would have certainly lead to mommy guilt if I would have scolded him.
If you want to master the one-minute secret to stay sane and silly in the midst of power struggles, this is it.
It also helps in balancing your throat chakra, your thyroid and helps you release pent-up energy from emotions you haven’t expressed. ( Win-Win-Win!)
Don’t be surprised if bickering siblings burst into laughter instead of yelling.
