HOW TO DITCH THE DAYCARE GUILT

August 29th, 2017 | no comments

Sending your kids to daycare or having someone else watch them while you go to work for the first time can bring up lots of emotions…

Guilt that you should be there with them. Worry that someone else won’t take care of your child the way you do.  Stress that you need to be super productive during your time apart or else the guilt cycle starts over again.

Has anyone ever felt my struggle?

I know as your eyes scroll through this post you’re giving me a silent, heart-throbbing nod.

Last September, when Ayaan was just shy of 18 months, he started daycare for the first time.

Even though Ayaan would be going to the preschool we own and I knew he would be in great hands (and possibly get some special treatment cause he was the owner’s son), the separation left a deep pang in my heart.

But then there was a wisdom I heard that helped me change everything.

Regardless of what your decision is about daycare, nanny’s or child care that’s not the point. At some point in our motherhood journey we will have to deal with letting go and the guilt associated with it.

Giving others permission to take care of our little ones and exert their independence. Whether it’s daycare or Kindergarten, knowing this perspective shift will give you the strength and mental peace with being away from your child while they are being cared by someone else.

This week’s TejalTV episode answers a question from one our mindful mamas who is going through the daycare dillema.

If you ever struggled to combat the guilt with the “daycare dilemma”, today’s episode can help.

Now I’d love to hear from you.

  1. Share your story about how you felt when you sent your little one to daycare for the first time? What were your feelings? If you have any support or encouragement you can provide the mamas who will read your story, please share in detail.
  2. If you are currently going through this, how did the perspective shift in the video help you?

Remember to share as much detail as possible in your reply. Your story might be the exact insight and inspiration that can help another mama have a meaningful breakthrough.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a supporter. Watching my videos and being part of my Mod-Zen mama community. If you enjoyed this, please share this post on social media so we can spread the inspiration with your friends and family.
