How can you be the mom you most desire to be?
Do you want to be peaceful, compassionate and calm?
All too often we want to be remembered as one kind of mom but our greatest intentions of raising compassionate, peaceful and loving kids are not enough.
When we get annoyed when we spill juice. We rudely talk to the Comcast customer service rep or when we purposefully avert our eyes away from the homeless person on the street… Your kids are watching…
Your energy and example are more powerful indicators of how your children will interact with the world.
To become the best mom we can possibly be, we have to be mindful of our daily example.
If you want to learn how to start living your values and be a greater example to your children, this article is for you.
Here are 3 steps to becoming the mama you most desire to be.
The key to living your values
Evaluate what values do you want to most embody? If you’re unsure, take the free test VIA SURVEY TEST ON CHARACTER to determine your core values are. Once you know what you value, now it’s time to make a real life practice it. It’s easy to say we want to be more compassionate or empathic but how does that really LOOK in real life.
Understanding your core values are important because these are the character traits you most likely wish to see in your children. These are the ones you need to focus on practicing and modeling for your family and the world at large.
Make a real life practice
Once you know what you value, now it’s time to make a daily practice. It’s easy to say we want to be more compassionate or empathic but how does that really LOOK in real life.
It’s easy to say we want to be more compassionate or empathic but how does that really LOOK in real life.
To make this real you have to turn these VALUES INTO VERBS! You do that by making them into specific, actionable daily steps that embrace that value.
So take your core values and ask yourself this key question “If I value peace, what does that look like on a daily basis? What can I do every day to bring more peace into my life and those around me?”
List out as many small or large action steps you can practice immediately. The more clear you are about what you can do ahead of time, the easier it will be to infuse into your daily life.
