THE REAL REASON MAMAS DON’T PRIORITIZE SELF-CARE (IT’S NOT ABOUT HAVING ENOUGH TIME)

Self-care, self-love, enough time, time management, mindful mom, mindful parent, mindful momma, Mindful family The Mindful Mama Experience

“I’m so busy being there for my kids, supporting my hubby and nurturing my children I don’t’ have any energy for myself. “

To which I reply “What is your definition of self-care? Cause I know a really effective self-care activity that can be done in just 5 minutes a day”

Okay let’s be real for a moment. It’s not about having time. It’s about MAKING time.

I mean I don’t hear you saying “You know I just don’t have time to brush my teeth because I’m too busy.” I mean seriously?

Okay maybe you don’t brush regularly, if that is the case, please don’t come near me on your stinky breath days! Peeeee You!

There isn’t a mama that I haven’t met that doesn’t have some varying degree of GUILT associated with taking time away from their family to nurture yourself.  Maybe you don’t think you deserve it. It’s not the right time. You’re worried what others will think. It makes you selfless if you put yourself last.

The point is that we need to shift the mindset that you are not worthy of feeling really great about yourself.

The real reason you don’t prioritize self-care: (cue the Pum, Pum, Pum)

Because you don’t prioritize your well-being.

You might be thinkin’ I’m a bit of a biotch for making such a confronting statement, but know my intention is to “lovingly be real” with you so you can make some REAL changes in your life.

Cause it’s true. Taking good care of our body, mind, and soul is a choice we have to make. A choice that we believe it’s necessary to take some time for ourselves every single day whether it’s 1 minute or 5 hours.

There is enough research out there that shows the benefits of mindfulness and meditation. A lot of people start meditating for its benefits in stress reduction and increased happiness. There’s plenty of evidence out there. I’m not here to convince you of the benefits.

Even with tons of proven support from ancient wisdom and scientific research, we struggle with the idea that mindfulness and meditation is one of the greatest forms of self-care…

I know it’s not as “sexy” as having a spa day. Spa days are a great treat. It’s like a vacation. You always feel refreshed, renewed and reinvigorated but it’s short lasting.

You can’t go to the spa everyday, but what if you knew how to create the relaxing effects of a spa day, in a practical way, that will fit your everyday life?

That’s what mindfulness and meditation do for you. It’s your daily spa retreat for the mind, body, and soul.

There are a lot of misconceptions about mindfulness out there. That it’s something spiritual or that it requires us to spend hours in meditation to clear out our minds or if we practice, we will be held to a higher standard and not be allowed to feel angry, impatient or upset.

Many mamas don’t consider a daily mindfulness or meditation practice “like a mini-spa day” because it feels daunting to do or you worry it’s going to be an additional thing added to your endless to-do list.

For me and the many mamas I’ve coached, once you learn mindfulness and meditation, it becomes the GREATEST act of self-care you can do for yourself and your family.

If you’ve worked with me, you know I value experience over just talk. I want you to EXPERIENCE things for yourself. Because to me your own experience is of greatest value.

So what I have for you this week is different than my usual bullet point practice tools or takeaways. This week I’m sharing something SUPER special…

You might have joined me for the April meditation challenge but this is new and improved based on your feedback.

In this challenge, you’ll learn how to effortlessly infuse quick calming “RESET’S, throughout your day to pause, get present and feel peaceful in 3 minutes or less.  It’s all about making small daily shifts that add up to big transformational changes.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a stay-at-home mom, a working mom or a ‘mamapreneur’, it doesn’t matter if you’re a mom of newborns, toddlers or tweens, these tools are designed to effortlessly fit into your current lifestyle – without adding overwhelm.

How is that so?

It causes each tool you’ll practice will be linked with an activity you are already doing. So there is no adding anything extra to your tasks or taking precious time away from your family.

All it would take is 5 minutes a day. 1 minute in the morning. 1 minute during the day and 3 minutes before bed? You think you could handle it? And come on you could do anything for 5 days right?

So what do you have to lose?

You’ll be learning from a certified Kundalini Yoga and Meditation teacher from the comfort of your home. I lay the entire groundwork out so all you have to do is show up for the challenge and commit to practicing 1 minute in the morning, 1 minute during the day and 1 minute in the evening.

AND THE BEST PART, you’ll have the opportunity to meditate with me live in our private FB group for only those people who are participating in the challenge.

Don’t be that mom that doesn’t take care of herself because you don’t honor and respect your mind, body and soul. Be a mom that loves herself so much that you are committed to carving out 5 minutes a day to your well-being.

If you’re ready to give it a try, join me for the 5 Day Mindfulness Reset Experience,
